About ΑΦΩ

“As scouting is worldwide, so should

Alpha Phi Omega be worldwide...”

Frank Reed Horton

Alpha Phi Omega was founded by Frank Reed Horton on December 16th, 1925. It was established upon the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America at Lafayette College. The design of the pin and coat of arms comes from Everett W. Probst. Then came the handclasp which was proposed by Thane S. Cooley. Lastly, Ellsworth S. Dobson and Gordon M. Looney helped write the Fraternity’s Constitution and Bylaws.

In  1976, Women are allowed to join the Fraternity as Full Members. Today, we include the ideals of the The Girl Scouts of America as well. Alpha Phi Omega is constantly growing. Nationwide we have over 400,000 members, and about 367+ active chapters.

The chapter of Alpha Eta Omicron (AHO) was officially chartered on January 31, 2015. We are in Section 102 and Region 1. Our Chapter works closely with the local Girl Scout and Boy Scouts to help maximize our service events as well as educating future generations about the importance of friendship, leadership, and service. We have also participated in multiple service projects to benefit the South Jersey Field of Dreams, including our annual APO Rock Out Show which raised $508. Our chapter has also participates in service events from campus and community clean-ups, food and clothing drives, as well as participating in events such as Relay For Life and the Polar Bear Plunge. In addition to our service, our chapter also enjoys spending time together. We have fellowships almost daily. We like to tie-dye tshirts, watch movies together, go out to eat (a lot), throw murder mystery parties, manhunt on campus, and many more.
